Privacy policy
Liberty Digital Works LLC (“Liberty,” “we,” or “us”) operates Liberty Case Tracker and libertycasetracker.com. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use the app or website. It takes effect when Liberty opens production case tracking to users.
Website visits
You can read our guides without an account. The guide search runs in your browser. This site does not ask for receipt numbers or include advertising trackers. Cloudflare hosts the website and handles connection data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it.
Installation and device information
You can use the app without creating an account. We assign an installation ID and an access token to keep your saved cases and settings linked to your installation. The token is stored in the device Keychain, and we store a hash of it on the server. We also record the device platform, app version, registration and last-seen timestamps, and your privacy and notification preferences.
Case and applicant information
A USCIS receipt number is required to track a case. We store it in encrypted form and use a coded version to recognize the same case. We store the form type, case status, descriptions, dates and history returned by USCIS, including encrypted copies of lookup responses. We use this information to display your case and check for changes.
Details you choose to add
You can name or label a case or the person it is for. You can tell us each person’s role and how people or cases are linked. You can add the filing date, reason for filing, and case category. You can also tell us which office handles the case and if or when it moved. For each person, you can add their nationality, country of birth, and country of chargeability. We use these details to sort your cases and show how they compare with similar cases when we can.
Notifications and service diagnostics
If the app signs up for push alerts, we save a push token so we can send alerts to your device. We log what each case alert says, when it was made or sent, and whether it went through. We log when we check a case, how the check went, and any error codes. We also log what our data provider did, how long it took, and how it went. This helps us find and fix problems.
USCIS case lookups
When Liberty checks a case, we send its receipt number to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). USCIS returns the status and available history for the app to display. The notice next to Add Case links to this policy and explains that tapping the button asks Liberty to send the receipt number to USCIS for the first lookup and later status checks while you track the case. If you do not want Liberty to send the number, you can leave without adding the case.
Internal case observations
Case contributions are on when you start. When they are on, we use a code made from the receipt number to study case trends in-house. We use the form type, filing date, case category, processing group, and case status changes and dates. We keep a link with limited access so we can apply your choices. We do not sell your data or share these case records with anyone outside Liberty. You can turn off future contributions in Settings, then Privacy. We may keep past records based on how long our system keeps them or if another app user shares data on the same case.
Feedback and service providers
If you email us, Cloudflare Email Routing sends your message to our inbox. We use your message and email address to write back. If you send feedback in the app, Resend gets the topic and text. It also gets any reply email address or screenshot you add. Resend sends your feedback to us. It may send you a note to say we got it if you give us your email address. Please leave out receipt numbers and immigration documents.
Sharing a case with someone else
Get permission from anyone whose case you add or share. If you choose to send a case file, the recipient can read it and may keep or forward it. Removing a case from your app cannot remove copies you already sent.
Your choices and third-party access
A third party must have your active consent to use or get your data. This rule also applies if we remove details that point to you or swap them for a code. When we ask, we tell you who will get your data and why. We require the firms that handle data for us to follow the privacy terms that apply to them. They may use the data only for the purpose we explained.
Delete your app data
Open Settings, then Privacy, then Delete All My Data and confirm. After the request succeeds, the active service removes the installation and its linked cases, applicants, timeline, and settings. The app clears the saved local copy and starts a new empty installation. Email us if you need help or no longer have access to the app. We may keep group statistics after we delete your data. We use them in-house and keep them only if they cannot reasonably identify you or be tied to your copy of the app.
Inactive installations and backups
We keep your saved case data until you delete it or ask us to delete it, even if you stop using the app. We permanently delete identifiable case data from our active systems and backups within 30 calendar days of receiving your deletion request. When we restore a backup, we reapply recorded deletions before the restored service goes back online.
Data breach notices
If a data breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law. The notice will explain what happened, what information was affected, and what steps you can take. We may post a prominent notice on libertycasetracker.com that you can read without an account. When available, we may also show a notice in the app or send a general alert to devices with push notifications enabled. Push alerts will link to the notice and will omit receipt numbers and case details. We will use any other notice methods required by applicable law.
Ownership changes
We will tell you if Liberty changes hands. We will tell you what will happen to your data and how to ask us to delete it. A new owner must give your data the same privacy protections. They must get your active consent before we give them your data.
If the service shuts down
If Liberty ends case tracking, we will post a notice on libertycasetracker.com explaining when tracking ends and how to request deletion. We will securely delete remaining identifiable case data from active systems and backups within 30 calendar days after case tracking ends. If you have already requested deletion, the deadline based on your request still applies. We may keep information that the law requires us to retain for as long as required.
Changes to this policy
Before a revised Privacy Policy or Terms of Service applies to your use of the app, we will show you a plain-language summary, link to the full update, and ask you to actively accept it. You can contact us for help deleting your data if you choose to stop using the app.
